Introduction

We use mobile phones every day. We send and receive messages with our phones more and more often in daily life. Nowadays, with mobile phones we can read and write many kinds of messages like SMS, MMS, Email, etc. We can also send and receive data via Bluetooth and Infrared between phones and other devices nearby.

For S60 series phone users, we use the phone native Messaging application to handle messages. But the native application has some shortage - we cannot convert or forward messages between different types. For example, I have received an interesting email on my phone and I would like to share with my friends by SMS, but I cannot because the Messaging application does not support. We often have to face such trouble. We cannot convert SMS to MMS or Email. We cannot forward Email to SMS. We cannot transfer SMS to computer via Bluetooth...

UniMessaging provides us an all-in-one solution to solve the problem. We can use UniMessaging to convert and forward messages in any types: SMS, MMS and Email. We can also transfer any type of messages via Bluetooth or Infrared.

UniMessaging is a helper to the native Messaging application. With UniMessaging we can convert and forward any message stored in Inbox, Drafts, SentBox and Email folders on your phone. We can convert a message from its original type to any other types and then send it out.

Quick Guide

NOTE: For Pro edition, please refer to UniMessaging Pro User Guide.

When you open UniMessaging, you can see the Inbox messages on your phone, as shown in figure 1. On the list you will see the type of message (indicated by different icons), name of sender and subject or brief description of each message.

You can also check messages in other folders. UniMessaging supports to read messages in Inbox, Drafts, Email (in case you have), and Sentbox folders. You can go to each folder by left and right navigation arrow keys. The figure 2 is an example for Email message folder.

Use up and down navigation arrow keys to move the highlight bar to the message which you want. Press ENTER key or left soft key to convert the message. You will see a popup menu giving you some conversion options for selected message.
As you see in figure 3, you can convert SMS to MMS or Bluetooth/IR message

If you select Send via MMS to convert SMS to MMS, you will see the standard MMS editor. You can modify the MMS message in the editor and then send it out.

If you select Send via Bluetooth to convert the SMS to Bluetooth message, UniMessaging will search for paired device so you can send it out.

For MMS, you have options to convert to SMS or Bluetooth/IR message.
When converting MMS to SMS, only the text in MMS will be converted.
When converting MMS to Bluetooth/IR message, the MMS attachments will be transferred one by one.

For Email, you can convert to SMS, MMS or Bluetooth/IR message.
When converting Email to SMS, only Email body text will be converted.
When converting Email to MMS, all Email attachments will be converted to MMS attachments.
When converting Email to Bluetooth/IR message, all Email attachments will be transferred one by one. Email body will be transferred as a text file.

For Bluetooth or IR message, you can convert to SMS or MMS.
When converting Bluetooth/IR message to SMS, only text attachment can be converted.
